What is a BOM (Bill of Materials) ? :
A BOM, or a Bill of Materials is a collected information of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products recipe that is used for material cost calculation. For example when we say that for producing 1 kilo of a texture A type, it is required 800 grams of type B filament and 200 grams of type C dye, we are defining a product recipe or a BOM (Bill of Materials).
Where is it used ?
BOM lists are used to follow up products and materials used in a production. By this way we can calculate how much of material is used and thus can calculate material or pruduct cost. So we can then calculate raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products costs. It is difficult to calculate those costs if we don’t have such information like BOM lists. This is where they are used.
MobilOR provides you a very easy BOM configuration screen where you can easily configure products and BOM lists related to those products.
By this product & BOM list configurations, you can also easily track your sent raw materials and semi finished products to your contractor manufacturers. This will allow you to automate transactions between your warehouses, contractor manufacturers and your production plants.
